'Honeysuckle' declared the colour of 2011!

Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.

Pantone Color Institute has declared the red-pink hue, Honeysuckle, the colour of 2011. The Honeysuckle colour of 2011 has replaced the previous turquoise of 2010.

“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits
. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating colour that gets the adrenaline going, perfect to ward off the blues.
Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute.

Interesting...I've been looking for a fabulous pink tile (that can be hand cut) for ages. Perhaps I'd better step up the search!

Karen, wise of you to stay on top of trends like this. Alexander at 1212 will be falling over himself to get one of your mirrors in this colour into his showroom -- I wouldn't be surprised if he featured it in his window knowing how much he relies on strong colour to pull in the punters. Go for it!

Hi Chris,
I was at 1212 today and loved the window display. Amazing that he's already on it!

It makes one want to create a new colour combination (is that possible?) name it, put it on facebook or whatever and see how fast it is picked up as the latest 'in '. It certainly seems to keep the (commercially) creative people hopping.
You just want to say slow up everybody, "stop and smell the honeysuckle".
