Mosaic from the past

I was looking through some old photos the other day when I came across this one. It's the fireplace from the last house we lived in (9 years ago?). I mosaiced it shortly after we moved in with broken Churchill China (The Brook Pink). The technique used is called Pique Assiette (French for broken plate). I broke 3 complete 20 piece sets* of Churchill China in a pillow case with a hammer (all before discovering tile nippers!) then fit them back together - the craziness of mosaicing.
It was one of my first big projects and probably the one that got me hooked on mosaicing.
Although I'll never know, I'm curious if the people that now live in the house left it or covered it?
*One set included 4 dinner plates, 4 soup bowls, 4 bread and butter plates and 4 tea cups and saucers.

I would hope not ! re covering up or destroying beautiful art. I would liken it to 'burning books' ... :(
You don't mention how many hours went in to it or one of your comprehensive 'how tos' (??).
The fireplace is beautiful, one-of-a-kind.

They would have been crazy to cover it up.

BEAUTIFUL!

I wish I could come across some of that china around here. Mississippi.
