I've been wanting to work on larger scale pieces for awhile. So this is what I've been up to.
The Poppy Field is 3'6" X 4' and made with handcut vitreous glass tiles, laid out in my tight and loose shag method.
I started this project in April and wrote about it in June. Things were moving along nicely when, in September, I ran out of red tiles. There was only one thing to do...
I ordered more tiles and started another project, The Queen of Hearts with The Mona Lisa Smile.
The red tiles finally came in so I'm happily back to working on The Poppy Field, which means The Queen will have to wait.

The mosaic poppies with the painted ones in the background creates a depth of field that gives an interesting effect. Like your other pieces I look forward to seeing the finished piece.
